English: Notre-Dame de Paris is a historic Catholic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France. While its naturalistic sculptures and stained glass are often seen as an evolution from Romanesque architecture, the Gothic style was influenced by Islamic architectural techniques, such as pointed arches and ribbed vaults, learned through cultural exchanges during the Crusades and in Al-Andalus. Notre-Dame reflects a global architectural legacy shaped by diverse influences.
