These 1,131 files uploaded in 2022, fail the Wikimedia Commons policy of COM:SCOPE. The 1907 book does not need to be uploaded by one scanned page at a time as the whole book is available as 1 file in Category:Howard, Timothy Edward, along with several other whole books available as 1 file each, by this author. It does not benefit Commons or readers or reusers to have a mountain of "unbundled" books with each page of text or blank page posted as unusable hundreds or thousand of images.

The DPLA files in this case link to a non-existent source, so clearly the project is not doing the "sync" that has been claimed, e.g. https://indianamemory.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/p1819coll6/id/57301. There is no benefit for Commons or the community of volunteers to continue hosting these jpeg format page scans when the original scan is at the Internet Archive in uncompressed jp2 format, should lossless versions ever be needed. The illustration pages are excluded from this DR and will be available in Category:History of St. Joseph County, Indiana (1907 book) after out of scope pages are deleted.

PS The red-link category in the DR title was a sorting convenience and to ensure VFC did not miss files, it does not need to be created for this DR to work. A check has been run, none of these files have ever been in use on any Wikimedia project.
