Thank you for submitting so many photos to the competition! You're one of nine people who have uploaded more than 25 images to the UK competition, and that really helps increase our coverage of historic sites. Photos from this year are already being used on Wikipedia - though it may take a while for the monuments map to catch up so don't be disheartened if some pins haven't turned blue yet.
WLM runs until the end of the month, so please add more and invite other people to take part. The UK is closing in on 1,000 uploads putting us just behind the United States in 14th place out of 49 countries taking part. Let's see if we can jump a few places. The competition runs until the end of September, and you can upload as many images as you want - so feel free to document some more sites. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.
In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.
Sadly not! This was an error on my part. I found the Geograph uploading process quite fiddly. Thanks for noticing. Are there any plans to mass upload more recent Geograph images? Thanks. I've uploaded the full-resolution JPEG as File:Former NatWest Bank (geograph 6083155).jpg. I'll nominate the PNG for deletion in a bit since it's redundant. I don't know of any plan to mass upload more images, but I am beginning to think that something in that direction might be a good plan. Thank you so much for contributing to the UK section of this year's Wiki Loves Monuments contest, which finished yesterday. We really do appreciate the time and effort you've put in to record the UK's built cultural heritage for future generations.
Your contribution has been been added to our collections here on Wikimedia Commons, and is already available for editors to make use of on Wikipedia and elsewhere. It has also been entered into this year's contest. If you'd like to see your own images, just click on the uploads link at the top right of this page (if you don't see it, click on the Log in option first).
We've received over 10,000 UK entries this year, and it will take a few weeks for our volunteers and professional judges to decide on the final top 10. The winners will be announced by the end of this month, both here on Wikimedia Commons and also on the competition website.
The top 10 UK images will go forward to the international section where they will compete against winners from some 50 other countries. The international winners should be announced here in December.

Hello! Thanks again for all you contributions to the Wicipics project. The campeign to collect images for our new archive has now ended (although you are welcome to keep contributing) and we are putting together data for the images, which will appear on the Peoples Collection Wales website, and eventually, on the National Library of Wales website. I'm asking participants if they would like attribution on these sites with their real name or their Wiki user name? Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all occurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.

Sorry for any confusion - I've been grouping three or more images of the same building into individual categories, and buildings into respective road categories, and roads into the main Hampstead Garden Suburb category, just to reduce the number of images in the HGS category. In that case would you be willing to go snap and upload some pictures for me of places that have been used for several films and tv episodes, but are not represented on Commons in a way I can use for my galleries? Here is my list. I'll be happy with whatever you choose. Many are interiors though and I hope you can do anything with those without paying for a ticket ;-) I Do not know London, so I have no idea if any of these places are close together. The length of the list is only meant to give you options, just have fun with it.

The Adelphi, John Adam Street, London. The lobby was used in at least one Poirot episode.
Alexandra Court, 171-175 Queen's Gate, London. The exterior doubles as the home of Ariadne Oliver in several Poirot episodes.

Hi I didn't want you to think I'm edit warring so I thought I would post here, you made This mistake. If you check This map you can see the borough border goes along Creek Road then down Deptford Church Street. I'm surprised you made this mistake as on the whole you get it right, anyhow no big thing. Ultimately it's up to you, Personally I have concentrated in categorising by borough because OSM maps are easily accessible, linked to any file that has geodata and show where the borough boundaries are. This means you can tell for definite which side of the border what you are working on is and be confident your edits are correct. The city ward boundaries are likely to be complex when you start looking into it in detail. I haven't seen a detailed map showing where the city ward boundaries are (Although I haven't looked specifically for one) If you can find one it is unlikely to be as easy to view as OSM maps are. When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Pubs in Windsor. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion). Hello, I noticed you have hosted to Wikipedia an image of the 56-58 South Street remodeled by Edwin Lutyens. I am working with the Lutyens Trust for their comprehensive Gazetteer website of architect Sir Edwin Lutyens projects, and I would like to ask on the behalf of the Lutyens Trust to ask for permission to use the photograph of this Lutyens project for the Gazetteer website. If permissible, the photograph and you as photographer would be credited and this chain would serve as proof of agreement of image usage and permissions. Hi, is there a way to generalise the category to also include photos of the tree that the plaque refers to? File:At London 2025 378.jpg is otherwise categorised separately from the plaque, which doesn't seem right (and has already caused confusion from other editors). Thanks. I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!
